Parents love. Parents worry. Parenthood is a joy, but it is difficult and stressful as well. How can you maximize the joy and minimize the stress? Pediatrician Greg Parkinson talks about his book Giggle More, Worry Less: a Pediatrician’s Thoughts for New Parents, which offers common sense, compassion, and humor, wrapped in practical advice on ways to reduce the stress of parenting. Dr. Parkinson, who practices at Falmouth Pediatric Associates, taps into his 20 years of experience as both a pediatrician and a father to point out both the challenges and joys of child rearing, and provides guidance to help parents:
• determine when it’s time to worry and when to relax
• sort through parenting advice and consider who to listen to, and how to know whom to trust
• feel reassured that there is more than one right answer
His tips and ideas will be valuable to all parents with young children. The event is sponsored by the Parent Connection and the Duxbury Free Library. This program is free, but limited seating is available. Register by calling the Duxbury Free Library at 781-934-2721 x5632 or online at www.duxburyfreelibrary.org under the events calendar.
