May 4th, 2017

Gregory Parkinson MDOn May 4, 2017, The Parent Connection and the Duxbury Free Library welcomed Dr. Gregory Parkinson to present his tips and ideas to parents with young children.

Parents love. Parents worry. Parenthood is a joy, but it is difficult and stressful as well. How can you maximize the joy and minimize the stress? Pediatrician Greg Parkinson talked about his book Giggle More, Worry Less: a Pediatrician’s Thoughts for New Parents, which offers common sense, compassion, and humor, wrapped in practical advice on ways to reduce the stress of parenting. Dr. Parkinson, who practices at Falmouth Pediatric Associates, tapped into his 20 years of experience as both a pediatrician and a father to point out both the challenges and joys of childrearing and provide guidance to help parents:

• determine when it’s time to worry and when to relax
• sort through parenting advice and consider who to listen to, and how to know whom to trust
• feel reassured that there is more than one right answer
